Sacred Intentions.

In the 2007 hit flick “Bee Movie”, Barry B. Benson, a bee that graduated from college, is disillusioned at his lone career choice: making honey. On a special trip outside the hive, Barry's life is saved by Vanessa, a florist in New York City. As their relationship blossoms, he discovers humans actually eat honey, and subsequently decides to sue them.

Honey is being progressively advocated as an ideal substitute for conventional sugar due to its various health-benefiting properties. The global honey market is at about $9 billion and growing.

The lifespan of a worker bee ranges from six weeks (in summer) to twenty weeks (in winter). Most of its brief existence is spent gathering nectar to make honey.?Bees perhaps show us that thinking small may be the best way to getting big.?Their society is a lot more coherent, efficient and well-organized.

You've got to think about big things while you're doing small things, so that all the small things go in the right direction.” - Alvin Toffler

It seems a bee in its lifetime makes only 1/12th of a teaspoon of honey - a tiny fraction of the hundred pounds of honey that a typical colony needs to survive. The most remarkable thing is not that a bee does the work; it’s that it doesn’t even do it for itself. It will allow future generations to thrive after it is gone.?It doesn’t consider the size of its contributions, but lets its efforts join the actions of others.

What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.” ?- Oliver Wendell Holmes

There are at least two toughies many of us deal with at some point or the other in our lives: (1) Are you who you’ve always wanted to be? (2) Are you doing what you’ve always dreamed to do?

The following is a story shared by Ashish Vidyarthi.

With the car parked on the road, I got on to the bus. But seeing the crowd inside, I was scared. There was no place to sit. At that moment, a seat became vacant. The next person could have easily occupied it. Instead, he offered me that seat.

Next stop, the same thing happened. He gave his seat to another person. I was observing him... this happened four times in the entire bus journey. The man looked tired; he must have been going home after his job. At the last stop, we all got off. Out of curiosity, I spoke to him.?

“Why were you giving a vacant seat available for you to others every time?”

The interesting answer he gave me was, “I haven’t studied at all nor do I have much money. I have nothing to give, neither knowledge nor money. This is the only thing that I can do for others, easily. So, I do this every day.”

“Though I work throughout the day, I can still stand a little longer. When I gave you the seat, you said thank you. I felt very happy. And I believe I’m contributing to the best of my abilities. Doing something for someone is a great source of satisfaction for me.?So, I do this every day and go home refreshed & happy.”

And if there’s one takeaway here, it is: “Keep making honey. Your 1/12th of the teaspoon counts.

Wow, what a fascinating journey from "Bee Movie" to the global honey market and the profound lessons we can learn from bees! We could all use a bit of that "thinking small to get big" mindset in our lives. Let's appreciate the incredible work of these little creatures that contribute so much without expecting anything in return.

Beautiful post Sir ?? We are only ethical if we can stay true to ourselves, foremost. No one may ever see us or create anecdotes of what good we do. Praise cannot be the driving force to give back love or service.
