Sabre Industries, Inc.
Connecting America's communities. Let’s build a better world together.
Sabre Industries partners with Hiring Our Heroes to help Military service members optimize DoD-SkillBridge .
Hiring Our Heroes is a Non-Profit organization that was started in 2011 with the stated purpose of connecting the military community with civilian companies to create economic opportunity and a strong and diversified workforce.?Their goal is to ensure veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses are able to utilize their resources to connect with employers no matter where they are in the world. They provide training and expertise directly to the military community and they facilitate connection with the business community through job fairs and coordinating internships.?Recently they have set up a program to optimize the military Skill Bridge program.?The Skill Bridge program allows a military service member to spend time as an intern or in a training program during the last 6 months of active duty.?Hiring Our Heroes conducts training and education with the service members to improve their interview and job-hunting skills.?They also coordinate with companies to set up 3-month internships.?Many of the internships turn into hiring offers and the service members seamlessly enter the civilian workforce.?This partnership supports everyone involved.?Hiring Our Heroes fulfills the mission of helping veterans smoothly enter the civilian workforce. Our two newest team members we gained through this partnership are Matthew Warner in Bossier City, LA, and Derek Howard in Conroe, TX.?Sabre gains a superior workforce by bringing on new veterans through this strong partnership.
Matthew Warner was brought into the team as an intern in September of 2022.?At the end of his internship, he was offered and accepted a position as a Project Manager.?Matthew comes from the US AIR FORCE after 20 years and served as the Specialist Flight Chief in the 2nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron.?
Derek Howard just started in January of 2023 as an intern with the Human Resources department.?Derek served in the US ARMY for 11 years and was last in support of recruiting.
