SaaS sales jobs: which roles are in high-demand?
Did you know that SaaS market size is expected to double by 2026? The sales technology industry is highly competitive and growing rapidly, which means that SaaS sales jobs are more in demand than ever.
Due to the money-driven nature of sales professionals, It is likely that the most in-demand SaaS jobs are the highest paying too.
SaaS sales is a transactional cycle, and someone is responsible for each stage of the process. In order to be compensated generously, you will need to work your way up through the ranks.
So, let’s take a closer look at the most sought after SaaS Sales roles for 2023…
Sales Development Representatives (SDR’s)
An SDR is the first stage on the SaaS sales process and consists solely of cold acquisition. Although this may not be the job for everyone, SDR’s are in-demand by candidates who are looking for their first sales opportunity, as Sales Development Reps are entry-level. It is also important to note that SDR’s usually stay in their roles around 1-2 years to gain experience, which means that businesses are frequently recruiting for new talent to fill teams. ?
Lastly, sales companies are always on the hunt for good SDRs, as without them they would not have access to qualified leads or be introduced to new clients.
An SDR’s commission is usually based on how many cold calls they make, and the amount of meetings that they book as a result.
Account Executives (AE’s)
Account Executives are often called ‘Hunters’ in the sales world as they seek out new opportunities and sales prospects. This particular SaaS sales job is most suited to professionals who enjoy working on fast-faced projects, networking or meeting new people, or working independently.
