Now that we've been hosting Personal Jurisdiction for 4?? seasons (!), we love to bring back guests who have moved on to new roles since they first joined us on the pod. This week, we welcome back Jessica Paduganan ! You may remember Jessica from S2:E31 when she was a 3L at the University of Michigan Law School . Back then, we talked to Jessica about her experiences in the legal clinics at Michigan Law. And now, Jessica is back to share about her first year as an associate in the Litigation Department at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP in New York City.
Along with last week's episode with law firm partner, Rachel Levick, this conversation with Jessica is a must-listen for law students and new attorneys looking for great advice about the transition from law school to legal practice and how to approach the first year of being a law firm associate.
Jessica Paduganan is a Litigation Associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP in New York City. During Episode 58, she discusses the transition from law school to practice, what aspects of law school were most valuable in preparing her for work at a firm, strategies for maintaining some balance while in a high-paced litigation environment, and why that looks different from week to week, as well as why consistently doing quality work and remaining authentically yourself are two of the most helpful things a young associate can do.
