Earlier this year, S2S Group had the privilege of hosting a discussion with Steve Mellings , CEO of ADISA, to shed light on the challenges in data security and the future of the sector.


Founded in 2010, ADISA has dedicated over a decade to promoting best practices in data sanitisation and protection worldwide. As a certification body, they provide independent validation of compliance to their standards, instilling confidence in organizations regarding their data security. Notably, their ADISA Standard 8.0 has received formal approval as a UK GDPR Certification Scheme.

As an accredited Living Wage employer?S2S Group?is excited to announce that we will be celebrating Living Wage Week, which celebrates the movement made by Living Wage employers and our commitment to our workforce.


At the end of October, the?Living Wage Foundation?announced that over 460,000 workers in the UK are set to see their hourly pay rise due to an increase in the 'real living wage'; a voluntary employers' pay scheme based on the cost of living.?


The change means those covered by the scheme will see pay rise to at least £12 an hour.?The increase reflects persistently high costs for low-paid workers. The previous rates were £10.90 an hour across the UK.?


S2S Group obtained accreditation back in January 2023, we are proud to support our employees by paying what is considered to be a real wage.

S2S Group proudly presents an exciting update on Ruby's journey in Ghana ??


Ruby arrived in Accra on September 18th, travelled to Akatsi, and settled into her home with a local host family. Living with 8 kids on the same compound has been a heart-warming experience, fostering individual connections within this close-knit group.


Adjusting to the vibrant local markets was initially challenging, but Ruby has learned to navigate them. On October 5th, school started, and Ruby has been teaching Maths, English, and Science in Primary 5 independently, tailoring her lessons for better understanding.


She's also working on setting up a netball club for all the students.

S2S Group is set to attend the tree planting volunteering day supporting the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust (YDMT) in January 2024 ??

?

We are sending a team to the Parlour Barn and Harrison’s Wood to plant trees within the three surrounding planting areas. S2S Group has previously volunteered for YDMT woodland maintenance, plastic-free woodland projects, and tree planting days.

We attended Sheffield's working jobs fair at the English Institute of Sport

On the 27th of November, S2S Group’s HR Manager, Faye Barton Fowler and Marketing Assistant, Ruby Parker attended Sheffield's working jobs fair at the English Institute of Sport (EIS) in Sheffield.


A massive thank you to?Opportunity Sheffield - Sheffield City Council?for hosting the event and to those who attended the event and took the time to speak to Faye and Ruby to find out more about S2S Group.

Since January 2023 S2S Group has implemented an Internal Recycling Programme. This programme consists of monitoring our internal waste and measuring what percentage of it gets sent to secondary recyclers and landfills, and how much C02 we have saved from doing this.

?

This programme has stemmed from the increase in staff members at S2S Group which has increased the internal waste produced. This programme also massively contributes towards S2S Group's sustainability commitments. It also allows everyone to know what is happening with the waste produced and the benefits caused by recycling accordingly.?
