S1, Ep18: Digital Health in the Contact Center Event Preview with Dr. Thomas Green

In this episode of The Wilmac Wire, Barbara Stephens, MBA , my teammate at Wilmac Technologies has a great, insightful discussion with Dr. Thomas Green, Ed.D, MSL, BCS, PMP , Chief Equity and Engagement Officer at Anthony L. Jordan Health Corporation .

If you've been paying attention to our company LinkedIn page, you know that we have a big in-person event on October 24th called Digital Health in the Contact Center: An Opportunity to Advance Health Equity.

Dr. Green is one of our esteemed panelists, while Barbara is our moderator. Yours truly ( Emily Miller ) has had the pleasure of helping put together this event and sitting in on this episode.

Dr. Green shares his story, from working in IT to becoming a strong advocate for health equity, and explains how Jordan Health is using digital tools to make healthcare more accessible.

Barbara dives into who Dr. Green is, what challenges he faces, and how he views technology playing a role in advancing health equity. Plus, she even asks him one of the panel discussion questions we have prepared for the event!

Check it out... this one got me excited!

Dr. Green’s Inspiring Journey

Born and raised in Rochester, Dr. Green started his career in IT, where he developed a strong foundation in technology before transitioning into the healthcare field.

Now after almost 10 years at Jordan Health as the Chief Equity and Engagement Officer, Dr. Green is uniquely positioned to bridge the gap between technology and healthcare. His passion for health equity shines through as he shares how his background in tech has shaped his approach to making healthcare more accessible for all.

He speaks to his role as an advocate, working to ensure that underserved communities receive the quality care they deserve. His dedication to this mission is inspiring, especially as he navigates the complexities of healthcare disparities in his community.

How Technology is Breaking Barriers in Health Equity

During the conversation, Dr. Green outlined how Jordan Health is leveraging technology to break down barriers and promote health equity. They’ve implemented tools like language translation services, which help ensure that non-English-speaking patients can access care without communication issues.

The organization also uses patient portals and online scheduling, making healthcare more accessible and convenient for everyone, regardless of their background. However, Dr. Green candidly discussed the funding challenges that often accompany such innovations.

It was fascinating to hear him talk about the constant need to balance innovation with sustainability, as expanding these technologies requires ongoing investment.

Despite these challenges, his vision for a more equitable healthcare system is clear, and his insights offer a roadmap for other organizations looking to use technology to drive change.

A Glimpse into Our October 24th Event

As I mentioned in the intro, Barbara and Dr. Green also previewed our upcoming event, Digital Health in the Contact Center: An Opportunity to Advance Health Equity.

Dr. Green will be a key panelist, bringing his wealth of knowledge to a broader conversation about how AI and contact center technology can reshape healthcare.

The event is set to feature discussions on practical solutions for making health systems more accessible, from improving patient experiences to ensuring equitable outcomes through technology.

He and Barbara will be joined onstage by:

The experience and knowledge runs deep with this panel, and we're excited to share that conversation digitally in the weeks following the event.

Thank you to Dr. Green for sharing your story and proving to us why this conversation is so important!
