Ryanair Mentored Programme - Gold Standard for Pilot Training

Q - Why should you choose the Ryanair Mentored Programme (RMP)?

It’s simple really! Successful graduates from a Ryanair Mentored Pilot Training Programme at one of our approved partner flight training schools, not only get a guaranteed final assessment but also have an exclusive fast-tracked recruitment process and will be given preference during initial selection. Mentored students will also be tutored directly by the Ryanair pilot recruitment team before attending their final assessment. This will give them a distinct advantage at interview and assessment stage.

Ryanair HoT, Senan O'Shea said: Not only will you be familiar with the B737, but you will also be exposed to Ryanair’s operational philosophy, safety culture and our industry leading SOP’s from day one of your training.

Q - How should I choose a Ryanair Mentored ATO?

You should take several things into account, most importantly you should choose a course that suits you, may that be ab-initio for those of you starting out or modular (gateway 1 or 2) for more experienced cadets. Price and location are important too, shop around and visit all the Ryanair mentored partners pages!?We have partnered with various flight schools across Europe so we have got you covered!

Q -What is an Ab-initio Course?

Ryanair HoT, Senan O'Shea said: An ab-initio programme, is zero to hero! The programme takes cadets from 0 flight hours to a full commercial pilot’s license (CPL) in 16-18 months. The Ab-initio programme is offered by several of our partners across Europe which were carefully chosen due to their high standard of training. This is the most successful programme with a pass rate of 100%! Only our official partners are listed on the Ryanair website and are endorsed by Ryanair’s Training Department. Q - What is a Mentored APS MCC?

Ryanair HoT, Senan O'Shea said: The Mentored Airline Pilot Standard MCC (APS MCC) is an enhanced MCC that trains pilots in multi-crew competencies to airline standards. It is designed to give new pilots all the knowledge and skills necessary to pass our final assessment and to be able to adapt easily to our type rating programme and our challenging commercial airline operations. It is the gold standard for pilot training!

Q - How will the RMP or a Mentored APS/MCC course benefit my training and future career prospects?

The Ryanair Mentored Programme and especially our APS/MCC is essential if you want to give yourself every chance of passing a Ryanair Cadet assessment. Our statistics show that less than 50% of newly qualified pilots who hold a CPL, frozen ATPL theoretical exams, ME/IR and a standard MCC course fail at the initial assessment. Going to a partner ATO and doing a Mentored APS MCC will really help you get that all important first airline job.

Q -What skills does the Ryanair Mentored Programme develop?

Ryanair HoT, Senan O'Shea said: The high-quality training you will receive throughout your training, will not only equip you with the skills, knowledge and attitudes required to help you fit easily into a Type-rating course but also ensure you excel in your airline career.

Q - What is the chance of not passing the final assessment after having completed a Ryanair Mentored course?

Competency Ensured - Prior to Mentored Students committing to a large investment they are assessed by our Partner ATOs to firstly ensure that they have the capability to successfully complete pilot training and that they are suitable to become a future Ryanair Pilot. This pre-assessment helps to ensure the 98% pass rate at the final Ryanair Cadet assessment. In the off-chance that the Mentored Student fails at the final Ryanair assessment, comprehensive feedback is provided to the partner ATO’s Head of Training and additional training and, subject to approval, support may be provided to the student prior to completing a 2nd assessment as soon as possible.

Why not visit our partner schools’ websites for more information on the courses! I hope to see you completing your training at a partner ATO very soon and at a cadet assessment in the very near future as Ryanair Group expands its fleet to 600 a/c with the gamechanger B737-8200!
