“recruitment to recruitment” consultancies, working across the UK and Internationally. Why does a recruitment agency need a recruitment agency to find them staff??

The simple answer to that is they don’t. All recruitment agencies have access to jobs boards, Linkedin etc.. Making them very well placed when it comes to advertising and recruiting their own staff. However, most recruitment agencies will prioritize sourcing candidates for their own clients over searching, screening and interviewing their own internal candidates. The only candidates that apply for an advertised job, are candidates that are proactively seeking employment. It will often be the case that the applicant has applied to numerous opportunities and a hiring agency may find itself in an auction to secure the candidate. The very best recruiters are those that are currently in work, busy and successfully doing their job. These candidates may be open to new opportunities but they are not motivated to apply directly or reach out to competitor recruiters. At Ruth Moran Consulting, recruiters are our target audience, and making contact directly through head hunting techniques means that we are talking to the very best recruiters in the industry. These recruiters will not be contacting a potential new employer directly and they won’t be applying for jobs on the internet.?

Our introduction

When we introduce a candidate to yourself, you’ll get much more information than you would normally get from an online application. Information like billing history, roles and sectors covered, reasons for leaving employment, current basic salary, current commission package and other benefits etc... This places you in a much better position when deciding if the candidate is suitable or not to join your business, therefore saving you time by not attending unnecessary interviews. The reason a recruiter wants to leave their current employer could also give you an insight into how competitive your own terms of engagement are or if there are potential operational problems with your direct competition.?

The hidden job market

Recruiters can easily find themselves a new role by applying online to the numerous job boards or posting your CV and waiting for incoming calls. However, only 30% of all current job vacancies are being advertised at present meaning that 70% of jobs are hidden from view. There are a number of reasons that jobs won’t appear on a job board. It could be that the job was advertised, but the advert has expired and the role remains unfilled. Or it could be that online advertising has been ruled out as an option due to high costs versus previous ineffectiveness. Or it could be that the role has only suddenly come about due to an internal change in structure or personnel. Whatever the reason, the advantage of applying for a role that is unadvertised is that less people know about it and therefore you’ll have less applicants in competition for the position. All recruitment agencies operate differently and have different renumeration packages. We collate and give this information to our candidates before they get to interview to ensure the package won’t incur a detriment. We can give up to date market information on the competitiveness of salaries, threshold and commission schemes so you know if the opportunity is right for you.

Support through the recruitment process.

We always communicate at the start of the process on the candidate’s current package, but will leave offer negotiation to the end to ensure the best outcome for all parties. We also provide additional information which an applicant would not normally find on an online job advert such as team size, growth plans, how much flexibility on working from home etc.. As well as understanding of the interview process from information taken from de-briefing pervious candidates and reasons they may have been unsuccessful. We can also be a conduit between the hiring manager and applicant if there are any unanswered questions, concerns or areas of negotiation at any point in the recruitment process.??
