Russia's largest railway container transport company launched regular sea freight services from major ports in China to vostochny

TransContainer, Russia's largest railway container transportation operation company, said that the company has launched regular sea freight services from major ports in China to Vostochny in Nakhodka, Russia.

The company said: "From mid-May 2023, the Russian Container Shipping Company has launched direct ship services from Dalian Port to Russia's Vostochny. Now, the company also launches Shanghai, Ningbo, Tianjin, Taicang, Xiamen, Rizhao and other Chinese cities. Regular direct shipping services from major ports to Russia's Vostochny."

According to the company's explanation, the opening of this service can shorten the transportation time to 3-7 days, depending on the location of the port of origin. It is planned to arrange a sea shipment every week.

Under the new business framework, the first freighter departed from Dalian Port on June 7. The cargo ships carry multiple 20-foot and 40-foot containers, including consumer goods, auto parts, and industrial equipment. After transshipment at the terminal, the container is transported by rail to the consignee.

Russian container shipping companies are actively developing Chinese routes, and regard it as one of the businesses with the most strategic development prospects.

Russian Container Transport Company is the largest container operator in Russia, with about 180,000 TEUs and 43,000 railway flatcars. The company has 40 railway freight stations in Russia and provides sea transportation services with 23 cargo ships.
