Sixty eight percent of Russians support 'special operation' in Ukraine, 22% don't, 10% are undecided
MOSCOW, February 28, 2022. The [state-funded] All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion (VTsIOM) publishes data from a study on the attitude of Russians to the decision to conduct a special military operation in Ukraine.
Sixty eight percent of Russians support the decision to conduct a special military operation of Russia in Ukraine, 22% do not support it, 10% were undecided.
According to 26% of those polled, the purpose of the operation is to prevent the deployment of NATO military bases on the territory of Ukraine, 20% of respondents believe that the operation is being carried out in order to achieve demilitarization in Ukraine, 7% answered that Russia is pursuing the goal of denazifying Ukraine and changing its political course, 6% - to change the political regime unfriendly to Russia, 4% - to divide Ukraine into parts and establish its influence on parts of Ukraine.
