Falcon 10 Air Ambulance Crash in Afghanistan

A Russian-registered Dassault Falcon 10 air ambulance, operated by Athletic Group LLC, crashed in the mountainous Topkana area of Badakhshan province, Afghanistan. The 1978-manufactured aircraft, bearing registration RA-09011, was en route from Thailand via Gaya Airport, India to Tashkent-Islam Karimov International Airport, Uzbekistan, for a refueling stop, before heading to Moscow. After declaring an emergency due to fuel shortage and subsequent engine failures, the crew attempted to divert to Kulob Airport, Tajikistan, before disappearing from radar with six occupants on board. Boeing 737 Evacuation at Gran Canaria Airport

On January 20, 2024, Transavia Airlines flight HV6365, a Boeing 737-8K2 with registration PH-HXL, experienced a fire warning in the cargo hold shortly after parking at stand P44 at Las Palmas-Airport de Gran Canaria (LPA/GCLP), Spain. The aircraft, manufactured in 2018 and bearing MSN 62162/6878, had arrived from Eindhoven Airport (EIN/EHEH). An emergency evacuation was promptly executed; there were no reported injuries reported among the occupants, but the extent of aircraft damage remains unknown. ICAO Sets 5% CO2 Reduction Goal by 2030

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has agreed to a 5% reduction in CO2 emissions from international aviation by 2030, following its third Conference on Aviation and Alternative Fuels (CAAF/3) in Dubai. This decision, supported by over 100 ICAO member states, emphasizes a global push for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production. In the lead-up to this conference, Virgin Atlantic and Emirates Airline demonstrated commercial SAF flights, with Virgin Atlantic operating the first all-SAF transatlantic flight using a Boeing 787 and Emirates conducting a flight with an Airbus A380 partially powered by SAF.
