Russian Air Force Il-76MD Crashes after possible Engine Takeoff Explosion

At 00:03 LT on Friday, 20 October 2023, an Ilyushin Il-76MD operated by the Russian Air Force, registration RF-86900, manufactured in 1982 with a total of 6054 airframe hours and 4231 flight cycles, suffered a runway excursion during its takeoff from Dushanbe-Gissar Air Base, Tajikistan. The situation escalated when the flight crew detected a loud bang followed by a fire warning from the aircraft's no.4 engine, causing a loss of power and pulling the aircraft to the right. Consequently, it veered off the runway, halting in a field where it was overtaken by fire; however, all eight onboard crew members successfully evacuated without injuries. Hijacked Maya Island Air Plane Crashes in Placencia, Belize

On Monday, 16th October 2023, around 04:00 LT, a Cessna 208B Grand Caravan registered as V3-HIN and operated by Maya Island Air crashed shortly after takeoff from Placencia Airport, Belize. The aircraft, which struck electric wires, was on an illegal flight and caught fire upon impact, resulting in the death of both occupants: a Venezuelan and an Argentinian. Investigations reveal that the airplane was stolen by individuals suspected to be involved in narcotics, and evidence suggests that the aircraft was set for a long haul, as fuel containers were found onboard. NTSB Releases Preliminary Report on FedEx B752 Incident in Chattanooga

On October 4th, 2023, FedEx flight 1376, a Boeing 757-236 with registration N977FD, experienced a left hydraulic system failure shortly after departing Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport-Lovell Field, Tennessee, prompting a return to CHA. During landing preparations, the crew faced issues extending the landing gear normally and even with the alternate extend system, leading to an emergency declaration. The aircraft, en route to Memphis International Airport, Tennessee, made a gear-up landing, overran the runway, and suffered significant damage; however, all three crew members onboard were uninjured.
