Second Russian A-50 Radar Jet Downed

A Russian Beriev A-50U, based on the Ilyushin Il-76 platform and serving as an airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft, was destroyed near Krasnodar Krai, north of Kanevskoy District, Russia. The incident, marking the second loss of such a critical asset since February 2022, involved the aircraft being downed over the Sea of Azov, with conflicting reports attributing the cause to either Ukrainian military action or friendly fire, amidst speculations of a technical malfunction. Seaplane Incident off PortMiami

On February 23, 2024, a Cessna 208 Caravan, operated by Willis Lease Finance Corp and registered as N85WL, experienced a float collapse and tipped onto its side while attempting to land in the waters of Biscayne Bay near PortMiami, Miami, Florida. The incident occurred around 13:37, shortly after the aircraft, carrying seven occupants, departed from Palm Beach International Airport en route to an unspecified destination. Despite the substantial damage to the aircraft, all seven occupants were rescued without injuries, and the cause of the accident is currently under investigation. Apache Crash in Mississippi

Two National Guardsmen were killed when their AH-64 Apache helicopter crashed during a routine training flight near Boonville, Prentiss County, Mississippi, on Friday afternoon, as confirmed by the Mississippi National Guard. The incident, which occurred around 2 p.m. in a wooded area, is currently under investigation, with no further details released at this time. The soldiers were members of A Company 1-149 Aviation Regiment Unit and D Company 2-151 Lakota Medical Evacuation Unit, respectively; Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves expressed gratitude for their service.
