Russell Westbrook has become the hot topic of discussion thanks to his pre game music renditions. This isn't the first time Russell has showcased his love for singing, dancing, and karaoke. In this installment of Shoot Your Shot, I break down why Westbrook needs a more engaged music partnership[s]

Lets get into the numbers, off his last two music renditions courtesy of video + creative director Freddie_Kelli on instagram, Westbrook has amassed millions of impressions helping all parties involved especially the artist of the songs he's singing.

Russell Westbrook has always done a great job of engaging with his fans and showcasing his personality off the court. Whether through his fashion, car sing a longs, philanthropy work, business deals, etc. By simply having fun on the court during pre game, we are able to relate and connect to him and see another side of him before game time Russ performs on the court. [Sidenote: Russell Westbrook is a future Hall of Famer and should be respected as such, the hate has been crazy. Great to see him and the Clippers do well]

Russell Westbrook is currently sponsored by Samsung and I think this would be an opportune time to double down on their partnership and focus heavily on Russell's love for music.

We've seen athlete partnerships with JBL, Spotify, and Apple hit the circuit. We've also seen a more recent deal between UNINTERRUPTED & Verizon around music and playlist. I believe Russell Westbrook can do something in similar vain with an existing partner he's already working with.

Samsung headphones, Samsung music player app, etc all seem like great options to explore with Russell Westbrook.

Other ideas that come to mind :

Russell Westbrook Karaoke/ Talent Night - Remember Shaq's comedy jam night or Demarcus Cousins comedy jam , what if Russell Westbrook were to create something in a similar vein but music/karaoke focused. Samsung or another party could possibly get behind this and figure out a way to integrate their product into the event.

Russell Westbrook x Earbuds - First and foremost s/o to Jason Fox , former professional athlete turned entrepreneur, for having the foresight to create an amazing platform. I'm bias but I think a partnership between Russell and Earbuds makes perfect sense for multiple reasons. It builds community, allows for Russell to get more data around his fan base, and it helps highlight different music and artists he supports, across many other reasons.
