Rushi drives commercial growth to build stronger communities
Altogether Group
A sustainable embedded energy & water utility servicing thousands of customers across Australia.
At Altogether Group, we’re all about delivering services that help empower communities to thrive. And we couldn’t do it without people like Rushikesh Kesari. Our Commercial Manager is laser focused on improving our margins and acquiring the best deal possible to make sure we’re delivering top value to our customers.
Setting high standards
Think about the best colleagues you’ve ever worked with. What qualities do they share? If we had to write a list, we’d say: dedicated and diligent, values driven, people first, always up for a chat, ready to lend a hand, and with a passion to drive change. You know those people who make coming to work that bit easier? Well, that’s Rushi.
Professional, methodical and always up for a challenge, Rushi is a textbook-perfect fit for Altogether. As Commercial Manager, his role involves liaising with various suppliers to negotiate the most favourable prices, while making sure our customers get a great deal, too.
“I was interested in Altogether because I thought they had a unique and innovative approach. There’s a great combination of commercial and community focus. It’s important to me to contribute to the success of the business and to help us grow. But we take a values-based approach, so having a positive social impact is very important. We care about sustainability and initiatives that shape better communities.”

Always up for the challenge
Rushi’s career journey began in Mumbai as a chartered accountant, where he began working at a chartered accountancy firm and then progressed to a senior leadership role in the finance sector. In 2008, he relocated to Australia and advanced his career in the telecommunications industry, which has been on an upward trajectory ever since.
With a long tenure in the telco industry, by 2022 Rushi felt it was time for a change. When he came across an opportunity with Altogether, he felt as though he’d found the right fit.
“For me, the greatest challenge lay in acquainting myself with the industry’s rules and regulations. Coming from a background in telecommunications and finance, this was uncharted territory. However, I discovered ample patience and support from my manager and team during the transition, despite some of us working in different physical locations. I enjoy embracing new challenges.”
That last sentence is probably a bit of an understatement - when Rushi sees a new challenge, he runs towards it at full speed. That’s why he’s currently on his way to obtaining his Master of Business Administration on top of all his other work and life responsibilities. And if you take a look back at his career journey and the way he joined Altogether, it’s clear he relishes the opportunity to learn new skills and flex new muscles.
Now, we feel like Rushi is part of the furniture - he’s cemented his place in his team and he’s kicking goals left, right and centre.
“The culture here is incredibly supportive, and it permeates the entire business. Even when I’m visiting a different office, the welcome is warm and universal. Within a week after starting, I no longer felt like ‘the new person’ - the friendliness of everyone is remarkable.”
Making difficult seem simple
At Altogether, our values are at the centre of everything we do. No matter your role in our organisation, you’ll know you’re working towards a common goal: making the world a brighter place and empowering communities to make a collective difference. Rushi says he sees it playing out in his own team every day.
“Commercially, I believe the most impactful way to serve communities is by securing the best value for our customers. In procuring energy, our goal is to obtain it at an advantageous price, allowing us to extend those savings to the end user. It’s a matter I’m deeply passionate about.”
