Running out of ideas is not a good idea !

Are you running out of ideas ?

Whether you are a poet, a writer, an actor, a sportsman, a politician, a business leader or a business tycoon you will run out of ideas sooner or later. Ideas come from inspiration, you have the best of the ideas when your mind is fresh, young and dynamic. Over a period of time, the process of generating ideas, the machinery behind generating those amazing ideas wears out.

While I am writing this article, I am thinking if this article itself is a good idea, let us see??. I used to write jolly good poems in my 20s, by the time I reached 30s I ran out of words, today I can’t even produce a single line. Many known lyricists in Bollywood recruit people to write lyrics for the movies. Actors run out of ideas, their expressions and styles once found charming have now seem dull and boring. Known movie makers have run out of the ideas, they are now dubbing regional movies in Bollywood, we have all seen it all.

Another good example for running out of ideas is Nokia, we all know what happened there. We all know how Tata become #1 car seller in India after the dominance of Japanese and Korean car makers. Since we are talking about cars, Tesla is another great idea. For Tesla to become a great idea those leading automakers run out of ideas. Please note it’s never a company that runs out of ideas but it’s the people who run it. ?

I would like you to think about how you used to run your show 10 years ago, how successfully you managed that compared to now. Are you running out ideas? ?If you are, then hire those lyricists for your organization.

What’s the primary reason people run out of ideas?

Primary reason is ‘going deaf, why people stop listening is a subject matter for another article. Many hear you, they aren't actually listening. Some listen but don’t want to appreciate any. When this happens, you definitely run out of ideas, your thought process becomes monotonous, your ideas become weak and that’s how you run out of fresh ideas.

What one can do to avoid this situation?

#1 Stay young: Connect with younger minds, have a regular, serious and deeper discussions with people at least 10 years younger to you. Discuss what could be next game changer, what they think is out dated today. This will inspire your thoughts, make them fresh and dynamic.

#2 Fail fast: Better experiment and fail early than use delay tactics.

#3 Remove fear: Implement an open-door policy, remove fear. Become reachable, don’t reward the gossip, but reward the feedback. ?

#4 Delegate: Don't try to do all by yourself, tiered people often make mistakes, at times irreversible.

#5 Remember: Wiser men say, if you are the smartest in the room then you are in the wrong room
