Running for Kai - 42km

Hi All,

This is not one of my usual published messages via LinkedIn.

However I am using all my sources to raise awareness and do whatever I can to help this poorly little superhero boy called Kai Nell.

Kai is three years old and is fighting for his life for the 2nd time. He is in desperate need of a bone marrow transplant, of which no match has been found. You may have seen Kai on the news recently.

I was introduced to Kai earlier in the year when he was getting better from Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).

Unfortunately last month Kai relapsed and being a young Father of two, with a boy who is a similar age to Kai I am deeply moved for him, his parents, brothers and immediate family. I just want to do I possibly can to make some kind of a difference.

Firstly I am keen to raise awareness of the lack of volunteers currently on the bone marrow donor list, it’s a simple blood test that enables you to be added, potentially saving a life. Kai has 6 weeks to find a donor. 

If you’re fit and healthy why not give back, make a difference, because one day, you just never know, someone you love or care for could be in need of a transplant!

Secondly to raise money to help Kai’s family who are on this cruel journey for the 2nd time, I/we (MAP TALENT) have committed to run the Sydney marathon.

I decided this four weeks ago… training has been mean! I have never run a Marathon before. 

I’ve set myself a target of $5000 (which goes directly into Kai parents bank account) a tough target, but I hope to smash it with a helping hand from my kind connections.
