Runners Be Running

Everyone is invited! The Comrades Marathon has always been a loved and highly anticipated day in our calendar, and one that the whole family are invited to play a part in.? The consumption of food and drink on this day, from energy drinks to cooked potatoes is staggering. It is estimated that 2 million water sachets, 9 tons of bananas, 500kg’s of biscuits and 1.5 tons of cooked potatoes are consumed and distributed.? Who knows how many South African braai’s are being enjoyed as well. ??

Preparation to run, at the level required to compete in the Comrades Marathon requires a commitment like few other endurance sports.? It is those early mornings, those long-run Saturdays and those uphills that build into the runner that says yes to such a race.
