Over 25K WordPress Sites Affected by Critical Flaw

A critical security flaw (CVE-2024-25600, CVSS score: 9.8) in the WordPress Bricks theme allows threat actors to run arbitrary PHP code on vulnerable installations, affecting over 25,000 sites. While developers released a fix in version 1.9.6.1 on February 13, 2024, exploitation attempts have been detected. Critical Wi-Fi Flaws Threaten Android, Linux, and ChromeOS Devices

Cybersecurity researchers have identified authentication bypass flaws, CVE-2023-52160 and CVE-2023-52161, in open-source Wi-Fi software used in Android, Linux, and ChromeOS devices. These vulnerabilities could enable attackers to trick users into joining malicious networks or access trusted networks without a password. While major Linux distributions have released advisories, fixes for Android are pending, making it crucial for users to manually configure certificate authorities to prevent potential attacks. U.S. Unveils $15M Bounty to Capture LockBit Ransomware Leaders

The U.S. State Department offers rewards up to $15 million for information leading to the identification and arrest of LockBit ransomware group leaders, known for executing over 2,000 attacks worldwide since January 2020. The State Department's announcement follows a major law enforcement operation, Operation Cronos, that disrupted LockBit, leading to arrests, server seizures, and the release of a decryption tool. Despite setbacks, experts caution that the fluid nature of Ransomware-as-a-Service (RaaS) operations may allow groups like LockBit to regroup and reappear under different names. Read more.
