“When you run your own race, do not worry about the next person's pace, mind yours after all this is your own race, not theirs.” - Gift Gugu Mona
It’s not about Others
We are a part of a world where everyone’s identity is an endless display of accomplishments, accolades and whatnot, so it’s very easy to compare yourself with others. A few years ago, I heard someone saying, “nobody ever won a race by looking sideways.”
In this walk of life, we all are running different races and have different destinations too. Measuring your success with others brings no result because you have no idea about what was their initial point and methods and what obstacles they came across.
Observe your own progress and learn from those who are doing bigger things but stay on your track. Humans have a tendency to put themselves under pressure by trying to match other people’s race instead of focusing on their own. This is to be understood that one can’t move ahead in their life if their mind is stuck on someone else's race.
Run your own Race. Its You vs You.
To be different from others, you have to Run your own Race. We all are designated with a role in our life. Your success is measured by how you perform your role. If you keep your attention towards other people's success, you might end up living a mediocre kind of life.
Don’t worry what others have achieved in their life. You have your own path and your stability on it is for a reason. Realize your dreams, know your purpose, clarify your goals and move ahead with confidence and conviction. This exemplary movement of your will lead you to a heap of success where you’re standing alone as a King.
There is no need to look over your shoulder to see whether you’re moving in the right direction or not. Once the path is forged by your dedication and intelligence, it's the right way to your destination. Try to comprehend what you have and what you can offer. If you don’t appreciate what capabilities you hold to run your own race, you won’t appreciate later when you achieve a lot.
Who you’re not? Stay in your lane.
Now, the game is simple as a clear crystal- just be you! Don’t try to be who you’re not? Win your own race with your efforts and dedication towards your goals. Play it simple- for instance, if you don’t have enough money- you don’t, if you don't have good clothes to dress up- you don’t. Let go of the things that can bring you down. Sooner you accept reality, the faster you notice a change. Reality opens your mind to look for the opportunities which you wouldn’t notice ordinarily.
You are your destiny.
Whenever you get stuck and try to look at what others are doing, practice the exercise of questioning yourself. If you question the future and purpose to achieve, you will get back on track.
We all are torchbearers of our destiny. Drive yourself and never stop. Running your own race is a perfect way to ensure recognition of your destiny and live a better life.
Success looks different to everybody, so Run your own Race.
