A Run in the Woods...
...imagine that!
And just like that, it was Thursday.
And all of the birds were still singing and the sky was STILL painted blue. I am struggling to remember a spring that has been this stunning in terms of sunshine... what a stunning couple of months we have had. And there they are... the words which guarantee rain and wind and storms and yucky weather.
Ashley is only just stirring after a lovely late rise... and he has a cup of tee waiting for him. Talk about spoilt! We are still sleeping in the caravan - well it is a HOLIDAY! It's a real sanctuary in here even though it is a tiny little space. And... there are no girls to mess with the boys' melons! Ha!
I popped into the kitchen at around 0830h this morning and found Linda had already made the morning brew. A nice treat, which has put me out of synch a little bit. Not being a creature of habit until about 8 weeks ago, this new-found routine of mine is highly obsessive now. I wake - I ablute - I make the tea - I clear the dishwasher - reset the boiler pressure (don't ask) - and I settle down to write my daily post. Well now I have had the tea made for me, I have noticed a disturbance in the force. Who'd have thought it? A man of routine has become of me!
Tim Gardiner and I finished the work on Glade Runner yesterday and the pre-order page is up and "running" (poor pun DEFINITELY intended) and with luck and all of the starts being aligned we should be delivering by 1 July. Another book I have really enjoyed working on. I have a really good feeling that this will be a popular choice among parkrunners (capitalisation not required) and poets, and well, people in general!
Also available now is Busy Buzzy Bee by Stacy Bax - a beautiful little book and although its had a bit of a delay on arrival due to a print flaw - my printers have sorted it now and we should be good to start the deliveries on 1st June. Just three days late.
What this also means is that I get to move on to the next two books, I am deliberating as to whether this should be two books from SVP authors, or... whether I should finish my fifth BWT book alongside working on one other title for SVP. I give that some sky time today but I have a bit of a vibe building here.
Thanks to those of you who helped out with suggestions re the woodland side of things. My thoughts are developing here - and I am set on the project being funded out of a proportion of profit from my book ventures so it is kept as simple as possible and doesn't need any fund raising campaigns etc. And... I'm not in a rush. I'll slowly grow the fund, and when there is enough to buy (and open) the first woodland, it gets bought and opened. I have chatted with Simon Elliott about this just now and in time, it's something that FYA could contribute to as well - and could use the woodland to help folk around the country get a flavour of adventure in a respectful way, too! I am loving this idea more and more as it develops.
I've dragged my heels writing this post because I have been chatting with a few people on messenger about this, that and everything in between. So I'll have to finish there...
Have an awesome day... be good to yourself.
Big Love. X
