Run for TMD - Your running journey with TMD

Are you trying to find the best way to fundraise for you? Do you want to take on a challenge when you fundraise? Then you should consider taking part in a run! Whether it’s a marathon/ half marathon/ 5k or 10k, taking on a run can be an incredible way to fundraise and complete a personal challenge at the same time.?

When you choose to run for TMD, you are helping to support children with life-limiting illnesses to achieve their dreams, at a time when it doesn’t feel possible. Your support means we can fulfil their wish list, provide counselling, support the costs for appointments with medical travel grants and so much more. Your support means so much to us and the families we support, which is why we are with you from the start of your journey, all the way to the finish line.

We want to make your fundraising and physical journey as easy as possible, so we can assist with training plans and advice on how to start fundraising. We also have places secured every year at specific half marathons, so if you are signed up to either the Royal Parks Half or the Brighton Half, we can also support you with group training days and a marathon gift pack with some essentials to help train. For all of our runners, we also gift a TMD branded running vest/ t-shirt to help you stand out on race day and to fly your dragonfly to the finish.

"I decided to run a half marathon this year as I’ll be 50 in September and I wanted a challenge. I decided to run for TMD because of the amazing support we were given during lockdown - with food parcels, chats and well-being treatments that helped keep us sane! Since committing to the Royal Parks half however, there have been some life-changing challenges. Jamie was rushed to hospital as the result of a huge seizure and aspiration at the end of April and is still there now (thankfully now in the rehab stage, although with some significant challenges ahead) and alongside other personal issues, the year so far has been one of the toughest of my life.?

Running has become my lifeline…with the training runs offering some respite, headspace and strength (and the chance to take some lovely photos). I’m pleased that my training is on track and I can now focus on fundraising for this incredible charity. Here’s to the second half of 2024!!" - Karen, Jamie’s mum & Royal Parks 2024 runner.

Take on a fundraising challenge this year and run for TMD. If you are looking to join the TMD team in London or Brighton, we have places available at the Brighton Half Marathon and the Royal Parks Half in London. Whichever challenge you take on, we’ll be cheering you on to the finish line! To run for TMD, please email: [email protected]
