Run Roger Run

On this day 6th May 1954 Roger Bannister defied all odds and theories blowing them out of the water

But what for ?? To prove that it's possible

Maybe you knew his name already but I’m found to tell you the story of how it all came about?

They thought he was crazy nuts?

That it wasn’t possible?

That his heart would stop if he ran a mile in under 4 minutes.

Actually, it was 3 minutes 59.4 seconds, at the age of 25 years old in Oxford.

Roger was a medical student at Oxford running for like a battery? AAA?

Amateur Athletics Association?

At 6 pm the gun fired in a planned race aided by Chris Basher acted as a pacemaker crowds gathered to watch him and erupted in applause??

He made history?

He changed athletics forever.

He believed he could do it and he did

Since that day, the speed for the fastest mile has continued to be a goal for those athletes who are determined to be the next record holder.

It got me thinking
