My first-ever pitch was in front of MSNBC, followed by a live pitch on air. I didn't have the luxury of waiting for everything to go right. I took action, stepped into high-dollar events I couldn’t even afford at the time, and positioned myself for greatness. Did everything go perfectly? Nope. But every move I made taught me something.

The only way to win the game is by being in it, learning from every move, and staying relentless.

I remember filming Shark Tank in September 2016 at Sony Pictures Studios! I was thrilled and the experience was ALL that! Never would I have imagined that it was the beginning of the end for my 1st company, “Curvy Girlz Lingerie.” A significant death, the ending of a business relationship, and overwhelming grief almost took me off this earth. I never imagined becoming homeless and an alcoholic so soon after my episode aired. Yes, I was in darkness for 2 years!

I walked out of homelessness on September 1, 2018, and have been clean and sober for almost 8 years. Just recently, I had the honor of sharing my story of hope and resilience at the Bowery Mission Women’s Center on September 11, 2024, for a very proud full circle moment.
