Rumi- The seeke

Rumi- The seeke

Rumi woke up one morning usually tired and reluctant to go to school. She could hear her mom screaming and calling her for breakfast which was laid on the table. She dragged herself towards the bathroom, cursing the chilly winters. She hated seeing herself in the mirror, especially the half woken up look. The only relief was the hot steamy bucket of water, each mug of water made her feel cozy and warm. Drying her wet hair with a towel , she put on her school uniform and rushed to the breakfast table. The crisp ironed uniform reminded her again and again how she needs to be focused the whole day, how her silly errors and easy-going attitude don’t stand a chance in this harsh competitive world.

She gulped the juice and forced the toast while racing down the flight of stairs rushing towards the school bus about to leave the society gate. She shamelessly stepped in, completely ignoring the Driver's stern looks and the commotion of active kids –the early risers and the ones who loved school time.

As she glanced out at the sight of waving parents, running trees and cars, a dense fog of confusion filled her little mind. Why do I need to attend school, why me, why do I get scolded every day, how do I overcome my laziness, what would help me complete my sleep. As the fog of confusion turned dense she lost her clarity, her thoughts became hazy and then suddenly like a bright ray of sun razing across all the haze a question disturbed her. What if I don’t change  ? How do I change for better? Whose responsible for my plight?

Similar to a warrior facing an array of arrows aimed to defeat him, these questions scandalized her morning. When she was about to accept defeat and give up, an answer emerged as a knight in shining armor. The one who was responsible for her reds in the paper, for her bad reputation, poor scores and performance, no expectations from parents and teachers, fear of exams, hate for books and disinterested in the course called Life was none other than “ME”.She stared at the answer for quite some while, as a drop of sweat trickled down her forehead and vanished in cold. The bus had turned into the Peepal tree and Rumi experienced enlightenment like a little  Buddha. A moment where she knew her life could be different if she decided.

She understood if I am responsible for all the unwanted, undesired disasters in life, I can also be responsible for the wanted, loved, desired life of dreams. That was a moment when she chose to change everything and completely owned her life. A smile surfaced on her unkempt face as the seeker found what he sought. Her thought process was ruthlessly shattered by the bus cranking and the chaotic fellow passengers pushing each other to race towards school. She watched everyone get off the bus, and then with a lot of calm and serene she walked towards the school gate. Fearless, calm and learned, newly born Rumi pushed the school gates to create a whole new world of possibilities.

Lesson- Our life is our creation. We are solely responsible for it. Life is a choice you own. We have the power to create the life we want. Stop blaming and start creating.

How easily we comment. Comments are always from my perception - not really being from the space of the subject, not from their space. Analysis is only pathological. Unless used for timely and timebound counteractions for who is seeking justice.
