Rule #1 - Stop Feeling Sorry for Yourself!
Self-pity is the worst kind of emotion. It turns you into a powerless victim. So make a decision to stop feeling sorry for yourself now - and take a massive leap in your self-development.
Rule #2 - Learn to Let Go
We're each clutching to our emotions, causing ourselves pain and stress. By letting go of emotions, we experience greater freedom. You are not your emotions. Just ask yourself: "Can I let this go?"
Rule #3 - Your Brain is Limiting
You The brain is simply a powerful computer. It records and plays back. It uses "labels" such as sadness and illness to replay things in your mind. Drop the labels. Ask yourself: "Is this a limiting thought?"
Rule #4 - Stop Being So Damn Sensitive
This rule is simple: Stop being so sensitive, stop wanting approval, and stop trying to please everybody. By being your authentic self, you'll automatically become more real and likeable.
Rule #5 - Be Happy Now!
We spend most of our time either dwelling on the past, or fantasizing about the future. Try to take time to actually live in the Now - and enjoy real freedom. You are only what exists in this moment.
Rule #6 - Release Your Religion!
We each have "religions" holding us back in the world. From Judaism to the Law of Attraction. Every belief system simply adds a new set of rules to your life. Release your religion, and embrace freedom.
Rule #7 - Intention Sets Direction
We usually get the outcome we expect. So, set an intention in everything you do - from going to a party to your first day at a new job. Set a positive intention, and prepare for a positive outcome
Rule #8 - Say Yes More
We each say "No" to too many things in our lives. Try saying "Yes!" to emotions, situations, invitations, and see how your life changes. Flow with the stream of life, and it all becomes easier.
Rule #9 - Change Is the Only Constant
Everything changes: people die, kids grow up, companies shut down. Rather than fight against the cycle of life, embrace it - and realize that absolutely everything moves on. Even this shall pass.
Rule #10 - People Are Weird, Love Them For It
Some people are just plain kooky. Get used to it. Try quickly fast-forwarding through that person's life to sympathize with their motives. But realize this: you'll never truly understand anybody.
Rule #11 - You Can't Change the Past
Sounds obvious, but we all try to do it. Realize that what happened in the past is over. Stop wasting energy visiting past events in your mind. Move forward from this moment onward. Write your own Story
Rule #12 - Fill Your Life with Happiness!
Everything you do is in search of happiness. So, fill your life with happy things: surround yourself with happy music, take a dance class, be grateful, expand your social circle, enjoy more experiences.
Rule #13 - Be a Rich Monk!
Get rid of your crazy misconceptions. You don't need an epiphany to be self-developed. You're not broken, so you can't be fixed. You don't need to meditate or give up your possessions to be spiritual.
Rule #14 - Sadness is Okay.
It's All Good In order to experience happiness, we must experience sadness. When sadness arises, embrace it - and watch it dissolve. If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain.
Rule #15 - You Are Not Your Story
Don't get wrapped up in your story. Stories restrict and cripple us. Past results are not indicative of future performance. Let go of your story - and enjoy true freedom in the now.
Rule #16 - Smile, Laugh, Love Yourself
Make a decision to be self-developed and happy. We're all a little screwed-up. Love yourself for being crazy and pedantic. Laugh more at the wonder of life. And smile, because you're free.

6 年Some great ideas in here James! Love the part about change happens because I do believe many resist change which makes life feel much more difficult. If only people realised that on the other side of change there is opportunity waiting! Amazing work! :)
