The rule that will change your life forever

The rule that will change your life forever

Why do we feel like everything must be achieved within a blink of an eye? Is it because of the instant gratifications scrolling through social media or pressure from our family and culture? Without taking time to reflect and look inwards for the deep-rooted issues it becomes a blur and we continue distracting ourselves and let our mind and soul wander away from our body.

In 2016 I became anxious and depressed, burying myself in the distractions of the world: shopping, socializing, and traveling. I realized my only solution was to move 11,000km away, escaping my world meant life would become better. 5 years later and I'm back to the place I once never expected to come back to. 20/20/20, the rule saved my mental health. Waking up 5am every morning to practice what Robin Sharma swears by. 6 months of dedication and routine, the transformation I needed.

  • 20 minutes of meditation.
  • 20 minutes of exercise.
  • 20 minutes of self-development material.

Was it moving, was it the rule or a combination of both? I'll never know but I know that I became calmer, more grateful, appreciated the finer things of life, and connected deeper with my soul. No longer feeling anxious, pressured, or distracted, I've gained the focus I need. This rule has become my daily routine, enabling a better alignment between my mind, body, and soul.

If you feel as overwhelmed as I did 5 years ago it’s time to look inwards and integrate this rule as a daily routine. Don’t miss a day, keep consistent and you’ll gain a new level of clarity and focus you may not think is possible.

Leaving you with this dialogue…

  • Mind: I’m worried
  • Heart: just relax
  • Mind: But, I’m totally lost now
  • Heart: Just follow me
  • Mind: But you’ve never been there before
  • Heart: Trust me, you’ll love it
  • Soul: If you both shut up I will show you the map!

These are lovely words Naseem, thank you for sharing.

Love how you were able to incorporate the 20/20/20 tactics into your daily life. I agree on exercise, mediation, and self-care daily. My times will vary depending on what is needed for that day.
