1. Rudolph Returns: Center for Puppetry Arts continues beloved holiday tradition
?? It wouldn’t be Christmas in Atlanta without “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” at the Center for Puppetry Arts. This holiday tradition uses puppetry, performance, and technology to present an exciting adaptation that is faithful to the beloved 1964 stop-motion animation film.
Following the story of misfit buddies Rudolph and Hermey the Elf, the story takes viewers through a festive adventure of self-discovery. This adaptation for the stage was created by Jon Ludwig, the past artistic director of the Center for Puppetry Arts.
This year, his successor Jason Hines – who has served as the center’s resident puppet builder for 22 years – has his first opportunity to oversee the entire production.

2. Delectable diner desserts
?? When you walk into an old-school diner, especially a Greek-owned diner, you’re instantly greeted by a gleaming case filled with cakes. The selection of cakes and cheesecakes is joined by pies, pudding, and eclairs – and yes, the location is entirely intentional.?
?“Where you place the dessert case has to be right in front of the front door,” says?Marietta Diner?owner Gus Tselios. “You must see it on the way in and on the way out. It sends a message when you walk in that you’re in a real Northern diner. Number two, it looks pretty.”
? Our contributor Sarra Sedghi has some recommendations for other diners to visit for their delectable dessert displays.
3. City Springs Theatre Company's Natalie DeLancey named to Hall of Fame
