Every day I see a post in a working mom’s group about how her company’s RTO mandate is turning her world upside down. This topic had been popular in previous C3 polls, and we find it to be very timely, so we are postponing the poll-winning topic of Speaking Opportunities until this month, to give our partners time to accommodate a September event, and we tackled this timely topic with Spring Richardson Perry of The Spring Forward, an organizational change and career consultancy. Spring is a work-at-home mom, herself, and is helping to guide her client companies toward workforce-friendly reporting policies and practices.
?
My co-host, Lawrence Henderson and I felt it was necessary to address the arguments on both sides of the RTO debate, and it was clear after bubbling up a plethora of pros and cons, the situation with the most benefits to companies and their talent became clearer and clearer. We invite you to join C3 to watch the replay and weigh these for yourself.
?
Here are the arguments we raised that have been in support of RTO:
?Culture
?Team-building
?Real estate
?Performance
?
For each of these arguments, we raised counter-arguments and various solutions with the potential to resolve the concerns of those who use these arguments.
?
The arguments that we raised in favor of fully remote or hybrid/flexible strategies include, but were not limited to:
?Eliminating emotional waste/drama

?Time saved primping, commuting
?Saving the environment, reducing traffic
?Eliminating overhead of brick and mortar

?Parent-friendly, mom-inclusive policies
?Enabling family support systems to address mental health crises
?
If your company is currently evaluating remote, flex-time, and RTO policies, refer them to the C3 community to access the replay and make a conscious, strategic decision that serves their utmost organizational goals. ?
