RTM Reflections: How RTM Develops and Supports Confident Female Engineers
Studies by the Society of Women Engineers show the percentage of women in some fields of engineering is as low as 10%. That's only one in every 10 members of an organization.
At RTM Engineering Consultants , we are working to raise those industry statistics by recruiting, developing, and supporting confident female engineers. In honor of National Women’s History Month and International Women's Day, we would like to share excerpts from a recent Beyond Engineering podcast episode featuring and celebrating these tremendous female engineers.
What’s the secret to their confidence? We credit our CORE values, which provide a foundation for growth to all our team members at all levels of the RTM organization.
Here are some insights from the women living those values in their own words.
By Kathryn Duytschaever, PE , Director of Operations at RTM Engineering Consultants.
Madison Huschak joined our team as an Electrical Engineer Intern after discovering RTM at a Penn State career fair. At job fairs, RTM strives to share the organization's culture of connection from the very first meeting – even if that interaction is only a few minutes at a booth.
Madison says she felt an immediate sense of comfort with our culture that she expects will energize her career wherever it leads.

With mentorship from fellow RTM engineers, Hope applied her graduate studies to real-life projects, practicing excellent engineering.
The opportunity to network with women across the RTM organization reinforced her decision to return for a second internship.
Civil Engineer, McKenna Mintz says the respect and trust she receives at RTM motivates her to share the experience with other women in her field.
