RPA and BPM Complementing Each Other - My Thoughts!

RPA and BPM Complementing Each Other - My Thoughts!

Do you remember when the increased hype in the rise of robotic process automation (RPA) caused one to question the existence of business process management (BPM) and more the combined impact of RPA and BPM on work - towards employment?

I do.

As the hype slowly dies – now is the perfect time to better understand that, in fact… enterprise RPA and BPM accelerates the future of work.

In my opinion, when it comes to putting the RPA and BPM jigsaw puzzles together, Dave Marcus is your go to guy. With over 20 years of experience, Dave Marcus, Vice President of Product Strategy Technology Alliance, leader of product strategy for investment in digital process automation and the global leader in enterprise RPA at UiPath – has spent years studying the growth of each separately, combined and every single aspect too.

So in a nutshell, what did I learn from Dave

RPA is essentially a ‘computer software that can automate repetitive rules-based tasks typically performed by humans on their computer’. In my opinion, this is perhaps where the fear of ‘will RPA take my job?’ came from.

But it is not the way we should be thinking– RPA definitely is a helping hand for an organization – it helps businesses improve the efficiency of processes and the effectiveness of services very fast, but as a stand-alone technology it will not function properly. Foundation is everything and sorry to tell you, we, humans are the foundation (so I guess that’s an argh and a phew at once)!

I think it is important to share that I didn't think RPA would grow this big and if it did, I was also worried it would take away my job. I know many other people had or have similar thoughts. So in my mind, I convinced myself by saying that RPA is good but is it really ‘needed’ - why change culture when the culture we already have is fine?

And here is why (leading industries have already seen it as a key tool making it a key tool) and in the presentation Dave will show you case studies of different company growth...

Basically, as you probably already picked up there is an opportunity to apply RPA across every organization, its popularity has been increasing so if we don’t jump on the wagon, we might as well just slide off. Once again, to put things into perspective, have a look below at the significant growth in RPA implementation.

What I love most is Dave will paint the road-map for you...

Rather than suggesting different ways to think of RPA & BPM together, Dave draws you a road map and simply says, look… there is just one way to think about them. And I personally think that is brilliant, given that I don’t know which way to think about them (thanks for putting things right for me)!

One should think of BPM as a way to empower innovation teams to drive digital business transformation and RPA to crunch numbers, shift data and replace repetitive predictable human task. They complete not compete.

You probably heard enough from me and before you jump on the wagon with me, how empowering is this?

Here's a statement from presentation that struck me:

Today – Digital Workforce = (People + Bots) working together across organizational boundaries…

But tomorrow is the …

Giabot economy = (People + Bots) working together across company boundaries

What a great way of putting things... the Giabot economy.

Once again, please don't mind me and watch the real stuff ...be guided through A-Z (definitions to implementations to future growth) and see how RPA evolves to leverage strategic AI focus areas, the journey both processes take together, reasons to even start the journey and much more!

PLEASE STOP SENDING ME THIS UNSOLICITED MAILS !!!!!!
