Royal Sovereign Lighthouse

Royal Sovereign Lighthouse

Finally managed a visit to site of the deconstruction of the Royal Sovereign Lighthouse.

Helping Robore Cuts Ltd with another unusual project, and working with Jeff Lawrence to achieve his vision with an unusual wire saw cutting job. This is the second stage of the deconstruction of the Royal Sovereign Lighthouse. The first stage took place last year with the removal of the accommodation and beacon platform. Only half of the frame is visible with a further 4 levels below the water. The lads were on the hardest part to cut, six meters outside diameter and nearly 1.8 meters thick reinforced concrete. Wire saw cutting is a slow process even slower when the weather turns nasty and you have to down tools.

Was a great to get out there and finally see the frame working as it should. It’s been an absolute pleasure working with you on this one so far and it’s appreciated all the efforts you and the team have put it to make this a reality. Onto the next challenge!

Good to meet you yesterday Sean and great to be able to witness the job first hand. It’s an incredible project and great that Tyrolit are supporting Roborecuts to complete the decommissioning of the Sovereign Lighthouse in my hometown. #Tyrolit #Hydrostress
