ROYAL ENFIELD'S CKD SETUP IN THAILAND FOR THE ASEAN MARKET

Just a flawed human, not perfect and not trying to be, rolling with life’s punches and getting through this imperfect world one rough edge at a time.
According to the Bangkok Post, in Thailand, RE sold 1,039 motorcycles in 2016, followed by 1,133 in 2017 and 1,527 in 2018. The Interceptor, Himalayan and Classic will be assembled there.
The Interceptor 650 is sold in Thailand for THB 213,000 which is around RM28,350. Very similar to US price positioning of US$6000 (RM25k).
First Triumph with full manufacturing capability (not CKD), then Ducati in 2012, BMW, Harley-Davidson in 2018 and now Royal Enfield. That's not counting Japanese makes. It looks like whatever Thailand is doing to attract foreign direct investment for the motorcycle industry is paying off.
