Royal Emirates Sports Academy To Manage Dubai Sports City’s State Of The Art Facilities

• Collaboration includes management of Football Academy and Sports Park as well as hotel apartments at Sports Village
• Together, Royal Emirates Sports Academy and Dubai Sports City, aim to be recognized as a top three sports academies globally, by the year 2022

Dubai, 6 September 2017: Dubai Sports City (DSC) announced that Royal Emirates Sports Academy (TRESA) will be managing of some of its key venues within the Sports Village.

TRESA will take over the management of several flagship facilities including the state of art facilities at the Football Academy, Sports Park and a number of food and beverage outlets.

The team at TRESA has international experience and knowledge in the global sports arena, and is hence expected to cement DSC’s vision of creating world class sporting facilities and increasing the presence of its home-grown brands. The deal also includes management of the hotel apartment blocks within Sports Village.

Khalfan Mazrouei, chairman at TRESA, said: “Together with Dubai Sports City, our aim is to establish the Sports Village as a premier sports complex with integrated lifestyle, hospitality and entertainment programs.”

“By the year 2022, Royal Emirates Sports in Dubai Sports City will be recognized as a top three sports academy globally, developing youth and elite athletes from the UAE and overseas. In addition, we will drive participation in sport across the Middle East, improving physical literacy, fitness and health in the region.” Added Jonny Tungen, Managing Director at TRESA.

Abdulrahman Falaknaz, partner and manager at DSC, said: “At Dubai Sports City we are proud to have developed multiple flagship sport facilities in recent years and to have produced success stories such as the Spanish Soccer School, Spanish Soccer Kids, Kickers Sport Bar, Champs Cafe and DSC Eagles. This provides us an opportunity to fast forward the development work already executed at the facilities.

“The agreement does not affect the Fit Republik Fitness Centre or the cricket facilities at the International Cricket Council Academy” he added.

As the world’s first integrated sports city, DSC boasts many world-class programmes and facilities including an 18-hole championship golf course at The Els Club, The Butch Harmon School of Golf, an award-winning football coaching programme at the Spanish Soccer School and outstanding facilities on the Sports Village campus. These include tennis, basketball, netball, rugby, Australian Rules football, and American Football alongside the well-established football, golf and cricket facilities.
