Rowers process?

1. You do it together or not at all.?

2. You need to trust one another that no one will let you down no matter how much pain you are in because we are all doing this together.

3. You always give more than you think you can.?

4. You must aim for consistency. The strongest can be as bad as the weakest in destabilising the boat.

5. One person's mistake is everyone’s mistake, learn from the mistake and move on. There will be hundreds of micro changes to be successful, make them quickly and continually. Don’t blame a person if they learn from those mistakes or they will stop trying to improve. If they continue to make the same mistake, that is a different story.

6. Minimise the mistakes the more perfect and repeatable the system the faster you will go

7. Everyone is equal and important but there is only one cox (leader) who steers the boat. Everyone must make their own decisions based on one focus. If you can’t follow the instructions of the cox, join another crew, don’t undermine what they are trying to achieve or everyone will fail including yourself.

8. Enjoy the people you are doing the work with or find another crew as when it gets tough it will fall apart at the weak point. You will invariably be the weak point and this will not help you or the people that are in the crew. People rise for people they like and let themselves down when they don’t, so have fun and build deep relationships. Everyone is different and plays a different role in the boat but look for the similarities in the red lunch boxes of what you are trying to achieve together. It is easier to destroy than it is to build.

9. Everyone in sync working together will beat anyone working alone. What is the bigger number 5 or 1. Five individual fingers can easily be broken but if in a fist with one focus can be very powerful.
