I believe in a morning routine. However, it is not the routine that matters the most in my life. In fact, the routine that matters the most in most people’s life has nothing to do with the morning routine.
Most people want work/life balance. Of course, this is defined differently for each person. I strongly believe that in order to achieve your definition of work/life balance, you must decide FIRST THING when you will leave/end work. Therefore, your nighttime routine matters the most in your life.
Before I leave my home in the morning, I decide what time I’ll leave/end work at night. I’ve been doing this for almost 8 years. It has helped and assisted me create the type of work/life balance I desire for my life.
I decide on the time. Most days it is no later than 5pm will I have my bag in my hand ready to walk to my car. I give myself a window of 15 minutes before and after. This allows for anything out of my control. Sure, there are always instances where my boss will need me to stay longer. However, most days I control the time I leave/end.
Having an established time to leave/end work helps me do the following from the time I arrive:
This year, focus on establishing the time you will leave/end work. This one decision will help you be more focused throughout the day.

1 年Facts! Of course, we can't predict unexpected situations or emergencies, but for many of us, how we allocate our time can help dictate when we will end/leave work for the day.
