A Roundup Of Recent Issues
So, you're probably noticing that things are looking a little different around here. Over the past week, I've been hard at work on a little merger of sorts. I've been seeing a lot of great traction with my newsletter (f/k/a Business Thoughts) and with my news / global affairs podcast, Noisecutter, but I also noticed that the scopes of coverage for the two were converging. I gave it a think, and decided to combine both the newsletter and podcast under a single banner, using the "Noisecutter" name from the podcast, and the "Critical thinking. Critical issues." motto from the newsletter. There'll be no real change to either, and perhaps that's why they make sense together.
Okay! So, we've been hard at work over at the newsletter, cranking out a number of issues in recent weeks. Newsletter issues go out first, and primarily, via e-mail and the Substack app, and so if you've missed any, be sure to subscribe here. (And yes, it's still free.)
Here's what you may have missed:
Flag Day / Turkey Day. — How venture capital turns red flags into green ones, and the FBI's investigation into the sitting mayor of New York City.
Boeing, AI, And Other Dangers. — The Boeing door blowout and the inevitable corporate fallout, and what happened at OpenAI.
Houthis, Chinese Walls, And Exploding Birds. — The Red Sea Crisis explained, and Carta makes some serious blunders.

The Tower 22 Attack, And Other Messes In The Middle East. — A relatively obscure terrorist group picks a fight with the United States.
An Elegy For Non-Competes. — The adverse consequences of banning non-compete agreements.
Dating Apps And Elon Musk. — The perils of dating apps, and Elon Musk still doesn't understand corporate governance.
I'll try to be better about cross-posting from Substack to here directly on LinkedIn with future issues of the newsletter, but you can avoid all that if you sign-up (for free!) directly on Substack here.
