Rounding up 2019 - a year that like almost all other years left me wondering how i really feel about it. But its been definitely a year where I'm a year wiser - because it has definitely taught me a lot of lessons. Im going to list these below in no particular order:
- A lot of times, people around you, will make you feel bad about who you are as a person because they don't want to feel guilty about what they did to you. They don't want to own up to their own mistakes so its easier for them to push all of it on you.
- Cherish the people you've grown up with. Because once they are gone, cherishing "memories about growing up with them" are not enough.
- Forgive people if you can for things that don't matter to you anymore. It will make you feel better, less drained, less guilty - when you see them suffering OR when they pass away and you can no longer tell them you've forgiven them.
- People appreciate your positivity, those silent good deeds, your word of comfort, even if they don't say it to you. You will be surprised when your patience, your support that goes unnoticed becomes the reason for people to stand with you in testing times when you least expected them to.
- People will surprise you. it doesn't matter how well you've known them, and for how long. Humans will surprise you. Sometimes those surprises will make you feel cherished and sometimes they will haunt you forever.
- Your resilience will surprise you too. Just when you think you cannot take any more, you will surprise you. Your tolerance, your patience, your "can't give up" - you will surprise yourself with your strength. Just give yourself time to heal, don't push yourself. don't shame yourself.
- Every one is human, to err is human. Don't associate godly and saintly attributes to humans. You will disappoint yourself - they don't disappoint you because they don't sign up for the "godly perception" you've set up for them.
- As long as you're breathing, life is worth living. If not for people around you then for you, yourself. There must be a reason for you to be still alive, Make yourself useful. You will feel good.
- Everyone has their own sorrows, their own sad lives, their own failures to deal with. You deal with your own demons.
I wish everyone a good year. It doesn't matter if we've spoken or not. It doesn't matter if you like me or i like you or not. I wish you a good year because, we all need it. I hope you and your loved ones have a safe, happy, secure new year. I hope you find your purpose in life. I hope life's emptiness doesn't haunt you. I hope life doesn't overwhelm you. I hope you can tell yourself that you love you. Happy 2020!
