The Round Up — March

The Round Up — March

March has been another big and exciting month for our team — take a look at some of this month's highlights.??

Mark on the Humans of Agriculture Podcast:?

In case you missed it, our founder Mark Peart was featured on an episode of the Humans of Agriculture podcast this month. The conversation covers Mark’s story, his journey to DIT AgTech, his ideas on purpose-led businesses, climate change, building a team, work-life balance and so much more!

Exploring innovation in our workforce model:?

Our blog this month explores our innovative approach to staffing more remote roles within our business — the development of our Fly-In, Fly-Out (FIFO) model.?

Workforce shortages faced by the agriculture industry are a topic of ongoing debate. While labour shortages are not specific to agriculture, our industry does have a unique set of challenges to face when it comes to attracting and retaining talent — the remoteness of the Australian outback being one of them. By looking at resourcing a little differently for this sector, we opened a new pool of talent for our business, and increased employee satisfaction and well-being.?

Impact Investing: The AgTech Loan Fund:?

Our focus at DIT AgTech is always on how we can enable farmers to create a positive impact. For us, this has been by delivering technology solutions that enable increased productivity, profitability and sustainability for farmers.

As we continue to grow, we are expanding our core business in AgTech, as well as diversifying into new markets — such as precision horticulture, and excitingly, the methane-reduction space. Our growing focus on ClimateTech means our business now presents a unique opportunity for investors — to invest in the progress of both AgTech and ClimateTech solutions. ?

We have established the AgTech Loan Fund, a secured debt fund with a target to raise AUD$5 million to support our growth, and we are very happy to say, that in a few short months the fund has already surpassed $2million. The AgTech Loan Fund provides an attractive opportunity for investors, offering security and clear upsides, including free attaching options to all investors.
