The Round Up - April

The Round Up - April

Hello DIT AgTech friends!?

April was a big and exciting month for our team. The focus was largely on innovation - we are expanding into new markets and developing some truly exciting new initiatives, all of which tie back to our core purpose - enabling farmers to create a positive impact. More below!

The Countdown is on for Beef Australia 2024!

Beef Australia is fast approaching! As always, our team is excited to attend and participate. You will find us on the ground all week connecting with, and offering value to, our customers the best way we know how.

We are running tours of our Methane Reduction Research Trial at Belmont Station:

We have been working with CQUni Agriculture , Meat & Livestock Australia and the Advance Queensland on a research trial that explores the delivery of methane inhibiting additives into livestock drinking water, via our uDOSE system. Beef Week is the perfect opportunity to show off this work, firsthand, at the Belmont Research Station, just outside of Rockhampton. We have long believed that methane reduction solutions need to be economically viable and scalable for farmers, across all grazing environments, and this work is uncovering strong results in this area.?

Tours will be run on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 10am, leaving from Beef Week. You can register your interest here.

Look out for our Courtesy Buses!?

We are always thinking of how we can make things easier for our customers, and we know from experience that getting back into town after a big day at Beef Week can be a bit of a challenge. So, we’ve organised DIT AgTech Courtesy Buses to run people home each night! Our buses will be leaving Beef Week approximately every 30 mins, from 5pm - 12am, each night, and running a drop-off loop into town, along the main accommodation strips. It is a free service, but we welcome a gold coin donation for the Royal Flying Doctors Service.

CleverCow

Beef Week is also a huge milestone for our business as it marks the launch of one of our most exciting initiatives to date - CleverCow.

Driving global progress for agriculture and for Planet Earth sits at the core of our business. CleverCow is an extension of this vision. CleverCow will be an online subscription service that allows individuals to offset their own carbon footprint while also investing in the growth of sustainable agriculture practices.?

It is a big project that we have big dreams for! You can follow along here to stay tuned in for our impending launch:?

Horticulture???

We have also continued to spearhead our growth into the horticulture market with our precision fertigation solutions. April marked the installation of our first proof of concept project on an avocado farm, just outside of Ravensbourne, QLD. The team is close to having a product ready for market that will?provide farmers with real-time data for water usage, fertigation levels, and crop nutrient analysis.?

In the News ??

Our paper on the Water Preference and the Drinking Behaviour of Livestock was published this month in Ruminants, an international peer-reviewed journal. This work was completed by our Research Team, in collaboration with CQUni Agriculture and demonstrates the feasibility of water medication for cattle, without disruption of their natural behaviour.

Feedback? Questions? Any key industry topics you would like us to cover in the next edition? We’d love to hear from you. Please get in touch at any time at [email protected]

Until next month!
