Round 3

The first innings of my career was as a pizza delivery boy, media planner in an advertising company and an operations person for a logistics and supply chain company. My experiences in these three roles lasted 7 years. It taught me the basics of being a professional, introduced me to productivity skills like using an excel sheet, making PowerPoint presentations and being good at communicating with customers. In the last leg of these seven years, I also started to learn about managing team members and looking at data and delivering results.?

The second innings a little longer than the first (12 years), helped me learn design processes, build systems use technology for scale and manage stakeholders, lead large teams, collaborate with international stakeholders and lead transformative projects. This period was the most exciting and challenging for me. I had to think faster, better, and collaborate with people and convince equals to align to a common goal. Financially this was also the most rewarding.?

It is now 3 years since I started my third innings. I now know how to make write scripts, record videos, edit, add subtitles, do voice-overs, animations, motion graphics and bunch of other skills, that I never thought I had to learn or would need to. I also learnt to start a company with out any series funding, generate revenue, make it self-reliant pay employees consistently, attract customers, deliver projects, invoice, manage taxes. All in the user segment I did not know existed till 3 years ago.

There is no message, no conclusion, no connecting all these three innings and weaving an insight. I just felt like writing after a long time and so I did.?

Oh! Yes! I learnt to communicate in sign language. 80% of our team is deaf and sign language is our official language. Not English!
