Rough machine UT inspection of ball mill end cover was carried out in the form of live video connection

Recently, the discharging end cover of the ball mill undertaken by our company has completed the rough turning process and carried out UT inspection and passed the inspection. UT inspection is very common in the machining industry, but the UT inspection this time is different from the previous UT inspection, we use the form of live video connection.

As we all know, as a kind of non-destructive testing (NDT), UT inspection is to use the characteristics of ultrasonic waves to detect whether there are defects or inhomogeneities in the inspected object without damaging or affecting the performance of the inspected object. The size, location, nature and quantity of defects and other information, and then determine the technical status of the inspected object (such as qualified or not, remaining life, etc.).

In fact, as early as May 9th, we have already used the form of video connection to carry out the rough machine UT inspection of the feeding end cover. In the past,the UT inspection, as required by the contract, it is necessary to notify the buyer’s personnel to witness on-site; in this way, the supplier personnel have to arrange work, book the air tickets or train tickets, and hotel rooms, which consumes a certain amount of time and cost.For the supplier, the production progress of the supplier is affected (because the supplier needs to stop work and wait for the personnel of the buyer to witness the UT inspection before continuing production), but the form of live video connection is really realized in the office, meeting room, home or even anywhere. A smart phone (smart terminal) is needed to witness the inspection, and the supplier does not need to stop working for a few days for UT inspection. This brings great convenience to both the supplier and buyer.
