Ross College Foundation Announces Two Scholarships

The Ross College Foundation announced the approval of two scholarships - the Molina Technology scholarship and the Kristen Beal scholarship. Application details will be released in the near future.

“We are so excited to announce these two scholarships,” said Shana Brubaker, Executive Director of the Ross College Foundation.?

“Developing scholarships,” Brubaker continued,? “whether they ease the financial burden or remove obstacles for students, is a key function of the Foundation, and it’s great to have these announcements so close to the Foundation’s one-year anniversary.”

The Kristen Beal Scholarship

Kristen Beal, EdD(c), MS, MBA Ross’ Director of Training, has funded a scholarship for a full-time student attending Ross College Online. This student must be a single parent with primary custody of at least one child 12 years of age or younger.

“I created a scholarship to benefit single parents who are online/hybrid learners to keep students' focus on managing their family as well as their learning,” Beal said. “I, myself, have been an online learner since 2000, and the delivery format eased some of my struggles. It is my hope this scholarship will assist recipients in keeping their ‘eyes on the prize’ and remind them how an online/hybrid degree completion will benefit themselves and their families.”

The Molina Healthcare Technology Scholarship

Molina Healthcare has partnered with the Ross College Foundation to provide laptops to Ross students who meet the scholarship criteria, have completed the application process, and have been chosen by the scholarship committee.

Molina Healthcare provides managed health care services under the Medicaid and Medicare programs and through the state insurance Marketplace. Through their locally operated health plans, Molina Healthcare serves approximately 5.1 million members across the country by pioneering health care services exclusively for those with government-sponsored health care..

Future Scholarships

Two additional scholarships are close to receiving government approval. The Kelly Byrnes Scholarship, which is inspired by a recently-retired and longtime Ross employee, and the Ross Education Employee Extern Scholarship, which supports students facing struggles while on extern and is supported by Ross employees via payroll deduction.
