INPC 1982 LTD the representative of Emerson in Israel, is proud to present to you a new device from Emerson-Rosemount, the ?Rosemount 9195 wedge flow measurement device using the differential pressure method. The wedge flow element is based on an initiated disturbance in V-shaped piping cast or welded to the pipe body that creates a differential pressure. Using the same disturbance (wedge), a differential pressure is created that can be calculated for the mass or volume flow rate. The flow range is determined using the ratio of height to inner diameter h/D.

The functional principle of this measuring instrument is based on the Bernoulli principle. Bernoulli's principle is a key concept in fluid dynamics that links pressure, velocity, and height. Bernoulli's principle states that an increase in the velocity of a fluid occurs simultaneously with a decrease in the static pressure or potential energy of the fluid. The disturbance to the flow is characterized by the ratio h/D, corresponding to the ratio β of the orifice (ratio of the diameters d/D=β), where (h) is the height of the opening below the disturbance (the only critical dimension) and (D) is the internal diameter of the pipe. Therefore, the flow can be calculated using the following formula:

The Rosemount Wedge Flowmeter offers a perfect design for accurate flow measurement of fluids that can be high viscosity, corrosive and abrasive and be accurately measured due to the linear response of the instrument even at low Reynolds numbers. The wedge coefficient constant is stable for Reynolds numbers less than 500 - allowing it to be used for laminar flow regimes. The wedge creates a differential pressure like an orifice and this differential pressure is measured by the DP transmitter and measures the flow rate accordingly. Designed as a complete flow meter, the optional application packages simplify ordering to ensure that the measurement system is provided based on plant application needs.
