Rose Petals for A Mathematical Lady

A news reporter said to me: "tell me a little bit about your story... 'Are you going to share everything in your book?' Is it an autobiography? Or a memoir?"

All I thought was, where do I begin?

My life is very mathematical, and so is my book since it is my world of beauty and logic: mi mundo de números. I want to start with something very recent first. I said as my train passed by.

God and I know what I have been through in my trajectory as a brave, confident, intelligent, and unstoppable human being since I was a little girl...

Amid all calamity and accusations from an abusive ex-husband, I have only been found guilty of wanting to protect and be with my [our] daughter. I am grateful to God that indirectly my actions are bringing awareness and my daughter is being taken care of when she is not with me. I am amazed at the things somebody is willing to do and/or say to try to defame someone's character; while in the process, trying to alienate their daughter from their own Mamá... discreetly. Because of it, I have been in a place I never thought I would be. Because soon, I learned that if one stands up for themselves, the aggressor becomes the victim, and their passive-aggressive actions are considered acceptable. A form of retaliation as I have researched and experienced. My ex-husband truly deserves an Oscar!

At age four, I developed my confidence, was outspoken, and became a leader in mi mundo de números — Mathematics was my first language.

I overcame many hardships with the beauty and logic of numbers.

I was determined to use my education to help others, and I armed myself first, knowing systemic racism was real and not imaginary.

At age 29, I was the first Landscape Mathematician, who creates original Landscape Mathematics systems using the beauty and logic of numbers; the Founder & Creator of Landscape Mathematics, STEM Field; Multilingual in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Mathematics, and 30 computer programming languages, as well as an internationally published scientific researcher. I had a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and a Minor in Fine Arts from the College of Mount Saint Vincent, and a Master’s of Science in Civil, Environmental, and Water Resources Engineering from George Mason University. My background was also in Architecture and Landscape Architecture. I became a naturalized U.S. citizen at 23, cast my first vote at 25, and blessed a Mamá at 30.

At age 35, I became a stronger, fully empowered Mamá pursuing my passions — introducing people to mi mundo de números.

Yafreisy Carrero is the first Landscape Mathematician, who creates original Landscape Mathematics systems using the beauty and logic of numbers. One of her passions is introducing people to her mundo de números. She is a Dominican-born American raised in New York City since the age of four. Multilingual in English, Spanish, Portuguese, she considers Mathematics to be her first language.

Yafreisy is the Founder + Creator of Landscape Mathematics, an interdisciplinary STEM field that combines knowledge of landscape architecture, mathematics, and engineering used to design, build, and perceive this world of numbers. She is also the Founder + Creator of LandscapeMathematics.Global, which informs about the beauty and logic of mathematics in nature. This website is the platform for her Landscape Mathematics STEM field, which she created and founded in 2015. The world is Landscape Mathematics!
