Rosatom ordered hulls for first two floating generation units

?Atomenergomash? (AEM, subsidiary of State Corporate Rosatom) announced result of tender for two hulls for floating nuclear generation units for power supply of Bayimskiy copper process plant.
Wison (Nantong) Heavy Industry Co Ltd (China), Khan Pi (South Korea), Quovis Sichuan Honghua Petroleum Co Ltd (China) proposed to build two hulls with 237, 323 and 248 MUSD with next delivery first hull not later 02 of October 2023, second hull not later 02 of February 2024. Wison received the order after pre-contractual negotiations with the final price of 225 MUSD.
The hull will be built in accordance with updated design documentation (project 20870) for existing float generation unit Akademik Lomonosov (installed at Pevek sea port, Chukotka, Russian Federation, in operation since December 2019).
Hulls will be built in China, then delivered to Saint-Petesburb, at Baltiyskiy shipyard where will be installed nuclear and turbine islands, executed comissioning phase and delivered to Chukotka by North sea way during summer 2026.
Nuclear island will based include on two nuclear core RITM200 (with heat capacity 175 MW each) and turbine island will include two specially designed steam turbine (with installed capacity 55 MW each).
RITM200 was created for icebreaker Arctic type (project 22220), in operation since 2020. Under construction next four icebreakers Sibiria, Ural, Yakutia, Chukotka.
