Roposo the Indian app growing faster after TikTok banned in India

Life currently feels like a Steven Spielberg science fiction movie. A movie where the camera keeps zooming in to reveal higher intensity, adrenaline-inducing scenes.

Things have been changing dramatically - over the past 90 days, month, fortnight, week, day, hour, and even the minute as I type this note. Nothing that I have experienced in my life comes close.

Roposo's daily scale is up 80x in the past 30 days. That’s like climbing a mountain twice the height of Mount Everest with New Delhi as the base camp!

Roposo, with 65 million downloads, has always been the largest #MadeInIndia short video platform by a long distance.

That number is now surging by the million every few hours, as Indians switch to the most credible short video platform in the new environment.

Recently, MyGov, the citizen engagement platform founded by the Government of India and launched by the Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in 2014, has joined Roposo, reposing great faith and trust in the platform.

The past 24 hours and indeed the past 30 days have been a humbling experience for me. Glance recently had a 100 million daily active user (DAU) moment.

As the 3rd largest content platform in the country and as the only #MadeInIndia content platform among top the 10 in the world, it was a proud moment for us.

But the manner in which #AtmaNirbhar India has embraced Roposo makes me realize that we have unlimited potential as a nation, business, and individuals. It is only a matter of time before Roposo joins the 100 million DAU league.

With more than 150 million users between Glance and Roposo, we reach around 40% of India’s digital population.

This places a huge responsibility on us. Roposo has been built as a responsible consumer platform keeping in mind the values and ethos of India.

It is a platform where Indians showcase their talent in their chosen field in the language of their choice and get rewarded for it.

Launching a short video app on the Play Store is relatively easy. But building a deep, consumer-first video platform takes time, perseverance, and craftsmanship.

A bit of luck. And a lot of love from users. Today is also #5YearsOfDigitalIndia. As India discovers, explores, and experiences a new era of short video consumption, I look forward to playing our part in building a digital #AtmaNirbhar India. #Jai Hind.
