Rope Access - Dangerous Eyebolts

Rope Access - Dangerous Eyebolts

It’s starting to get ridiculous the amount of dangerous eyebolts we are finding on sites these days. It truly makes you wonder who the so-called “competent” person is testing these things and what training they actually have?

I am currently in process of rewriting the Kee Safety installation and recertification course for our RINGANKA & KEYANKA products. Course will include theoretical and practical sessions. Lots of poor installations cross my desk, more education required.

Eye bolt placed in masonry, failed at 2.5kN. Do you think this was tested when installed?

This is what theBSIF safety installers association is for and what I am a member of. There is now a code of practice for the installation of safety equipment and the inspection of these types of anchors For more info please get in touch As per the previous posts this anchor appears to be resin fixed into the brick but the resin is all around the base, meaning that the installers are sloppy with their install but also means that the eyebolt cannot be removed to inspect the rest of the bolt. What type of anchor has been used???

This had been tagged with a cable tie, clearly hasn't had a thorough examination
