It is free and open source, allowing users to take a photo of their room and receive a new version created based on their chosen themes. 2. Meta’s Goal is to Improve AI, Not Metaverse

Meta has shifted its focus to efficiency and laid off 10,000 employees, focusing on streamlining projects and reducing expenses. It will still invest in the metaverse, but will not spend most of its money there. Meta's goal is to improve AI, and CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated on Tuesday that the company's single largest investment is in advancing AI and building it into every one of its products. This comes amid a heightened AI frenzy in the tech world, sparked by the public release of ChatGPT by Microsoft-backed OpenAI at the end of November. Meta announced late last month that it would establish a "top-level product group" to "turbocharge" the company's AI tool development efforts. Zuckerberg's emphasis on investing in AI and utilizing the buzzy technology's tools to boost the company's efficiency and profitability is also what the shareholders and the market want to hear.

3. Generative AI for office productivity: A comparison of Google and Microsoft’s offerings

Google announced a suite of upcoming generative AI features for its Workspace apps, while Microsoft announced 365 Copilot. Google's goal is to help Workspace users "harness the power of generative AI to create, connect, and collaborate like never before," while Microsoft's is to help people focus on the stuff that matters instead of spending time on tasks that drain their time, creativity, and energy. Microsoft's AI features are bundled together into a single assistant that can be summoned throughout its Office apps. Microsoft is introducing Copilot, a GPT-4-powered chatbot that can be accessed via a dedicated Copilot button on the toolbar atop Office apps.

Copilot is highly contextual and pulls information from other related documents, emails, chats, meetings, and contacts to assist with the document. This can be a game-changer for large organisations with lengthy documents to analyse and form a bigger picture.
