Room and Refuge

Room and Refuge

?I have always enjoyed the early morning, listening to the sounds, seeing the stars along with the smells and freshness it brings. It is a confirmation of a new day and knowing God is with me. God is always present even in the areas of my life that seem unimportant or extra hard. He is there when I am feeding the cows. He is there with me at work. There is no space that God does not fill me with His presence. God graciously hears my prayers and delivers me from daily trials and chaos. God wants a relationship with me and His presence is everywhere. The Bible tells me in Psalms 145:18 The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. While I desire more of God’s presence, knowing He desires the same, I have to make room for Him. I need to create space for God in my day-to-day. He longs for an intimate relationship with me. Papa started out at a young age with me, telling me Jon Mark, Jesus sure does love you and so do I. By the way, what did you do for Jesus today ? Did you have any room for Jesus in your day ??The older I got, the more real it got, making room always meant I had a better day. The more room I made the better day I seemed to have had. Sometimes it is easy for me to be overwhelmed with the clutter that fills my life. Clutter equals chaos and chaos is stressful. In our fast-paced society, my mind quickly becomes cluttered. So many projects with deadlines. So many responsibilities to so many people. Sometimes our minds get so cluttered that we forget what is important, and that is making room for God in our lives. We have to make room for God in our lives. We make room for Him when we honor Him in our actions and attitudes and submit our will to His. We create more space for God when we declutter all the unnecessary things out of our lives. When we choose to accept the love He has to offer it will drown out our feelings of inadequacy. We have refuge and a safe place. If we want to become more like Jesus, we should prioritize being with Him. Knowing Him and His character will allow us to learn how to be more like Him. When we open the Bible to read God’s word we are really opening our ears to hear His will. When we memorize scripture, we are allowing God’s truth and grace to soak in. Over time our intimate, transformational relationship with God will allow us to open our hearts to God’s work in us. Sometimes I may have to take a short walk along with a deep breath and let Jesus’ presence cover and fill me. No matter our circumstance, He is always for us, likes us, loves us and extends grace to us. He is willing to help us get rid of the distractions that keep us from making room for God and yes that includes people in our lives that are detractors, dictators of dysfunction and division. God will have then seemingly removed. Keeping us more focused on Him. A heart and mind that focuses on the Lord and lives to obey His will is freed from the worldly distractions and filled with peace. When we take time to make room for Him, we will see His sovereignty and His purpose for our life and in our day activities In closing there is something deeper, more hopeful, when room is available, so we must choose carefully what we allow to clutter our life. As we declutter our life and make intentional choices to make room for God,?we will hunger to be in His presence. Enjoy this Christmas season knowing the reason is Jesus and we live to love and share Him with others.

Psalms 91:1- 2

1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Hebrews 6:18

18That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us.
